ANSHU GROVER:
Anatomy of a wine label in 60 seconds or less! My name is Anshu Grover, I'm a certified wine expert, your friendly neighborhood wine expert, and I love to talk to you about wine. And in today's edition of reading a wine label, we are going to talk about Super Tuscans.
I personally always found the topic of Super Tuscans very confusing, and identifying a Super Tuscan to be difficult.
However, there is one word that you can find on a label that can help you identify a lot of the Super Tuscans. Not every Super Tuscan has the same word available on the label, but many do, and that word is "Bolgheri". If you see the word Bolgheri on a label, you are dealing with a Super Tuscan because Bolgheri is the wine appellation in Italy where these wines are made.
And Bolgheri Rossos tend to be relatively less expensive than some of the Super Tuscans that are available. So you can find a bargain sometimes.
I hope that helps. Cheers!
